Battle preparations?
It's coming. The cold/flu season. Many friends have already fought round one. Generally, my immediate family makes it into January without too many illnesses. And then January-April is one long list of illness, if not in my family, in the people around us. Lots of Kleenex, cold remedies and cancelled activities. I am thankful I live in a place where summer mostly wipes the germs away. When you have small kids, summer, with its minimal illness, is a lifeline. I'm watching the drug store sales, preparing for future battles. Maybe this year I can avoid any late night trips for the cough medication that isn't on sale. The superstitious side of me, whose existence I deny, wonders if actually writing this post is like inviting the germs to come invade.
