Harmony

School starts tomorrow for H. Tuesday for K. Next week for T, though he will be in the office doing prep much of the week. I miss having a few afternoons a week to myself, but I like the routine of my break. Generally we got up when we wanted, snuggled and read together before breakfast, stayed in our pjs until the middle of the afternoon or all day if we didn't have to go somewhere. I didn't miss H's homework, or all of our lessons, or trying to keep track of the accessories required for winter recess in Michigan. And I loved the spying. The girls found a groove this break. The bickering, fighting, and general unenjoyment was significantly less than usual. Was I more consistent in discipline? Were they less tired without a school day to wear them out? Who knows, but I love to peak at them, getting along, sharing, and creating intricate imaginary worlds (the current worlds are inspired by the Tinkerbell movie or a newly created Barbie hair salon). So while the academic and social learning must progress, I am dreading school, both the bickering between my darlings, and the walking with H to the bus stop in 10 degrees.
