Election Day Story

While doing volunteer work in H's classroom the other day, some of the mothers were sharing how their children reacted to the election. One lady taught her son to love Obama by telling him how necessary unions are, that Obama loves unions, and that Obama was the only candidate who wanted to help Michigan. It turned out that at this lady's house, the boy associated Michigan with football, not a geographic location. On election morning, his mother was leaving early to go vote. The still groggy little boy looked at his mother in amazement as she put on her coat, and said, "How come you get to go to the football game? Can't I come?"
