Merry Christmas

It's quiet. The sun, yes that glorious ball of light, finally came out for this day. How appropriate. It's just the four of us. I miss our families. And I don't. I like these moments--just us. T doesn't have any friends who have time to need him, and no pressing work. The girls have no activities. We went to a movie, made bracelets, opened presents and have just been together. T and the girls are outside playing. Bowling and ice skating are still on the list. And while I savor the togetherness I think of two of our grandmas, alone for the day, and countless others for whom today is a day like any other. And I long to reach out...wish I could bridge the distance and offer the joy of watching of my kids squeal through each step of this day. And finally a new feeling this Christmas, a strange one that is a testament to community through technology, before I start cooking I felt a need to check in with my blogging friends and family and say, Merry Christmas.
