The Easy Pace of Summer

Except for Tom, who always stretches unpacking into a week long event that tries my patience, we are unpacked. We've had a few extra bowel movements but appear to have escaped Honduras without trouble from the government or the parasites. I've wrestled most of the tomatoes back into their cages and done a lot of trimming. It's amazing how much a garden can grow in 18 days. The easy pace of summer has arrived for the first time here. Trip preparations prevented my relaxation in the first few weeks. For the first time since grad school Tom took a session off from teaching so while it may be Thursday at your house I am quite sure we are stuck in a happy cycle of Saturdays and Sundays. I still have more stories to tell but for now I am sitting here, relaxing, maybe tomorrow. I moved this text from the end of the post to the beginning and now can't get rid of the underlining. Sorry. Here are a few pictures for you. This picture is for mom, who always wants a family picture. Tom agreed happily, which is rare. I should zoom in, but for now this is what I have. It's at Cody and Laura's wedding. And below, the happy couple exits to the waiting car while being pelted with Frisbees (the wedding favor so they kind of asked for it).

Above is my veggie garden; it isn't a big thing but I swear these plants all grew close to an inch a day while I gone. This picture is AFTER much trimming. And below, I've squeezed quite a few blooms into the foot of dirt I have on the valuable south side. I guess we all make do with what we have.
